SANDER Michael
Prof. Dr. Michael Sander is chair of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Therapy, University Hospital Giessen, Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, Germany.
Since 2018, he has been the President of the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee Intensive Care Medicine and on the European Board of Intensive Care Medicine - European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
From 2014 until 2017, he was the Chair of the Perioperative Intensive Care section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). He is now serving as the German representative of the European Board of Anaesthesiology / Anaesthesiology Section of UEMS and German council member and member of the Scientific Subcommittee Intensive Care Medicine of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.
His research interests are perioperative risk management strategies, hemodynamics and prevention of infections and sepsis.
