
KOBELYATSKYY Yuriy
Prof. Yuriy Kobelyatskyy is a distinguished expert in anaesthesiology, intensive care, and pain management, with over three decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. He graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute in 1987 and subsequently completed his internship. From 1987 to 1989, he worked as a staff anaesthesiologist in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Dnepropetrovsk City Clinical Hospital No. 2. Between 1991 and 1993, he undertook advanced clinical training at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy. His academic career progressed steadily at the same institution: – 1993 – Appointed Assistant Professor – 2000 – Promoted to Associate Professor – 2006 – Earned the title of Professor – 2008 – Appointed Professor and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Since 2024, Prof. Kobelyatskyy has served as Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Emergency Medicine for Postgraduate Education at Dnipro State Medical University. He has completed specialised clinical training in anaesthesiology and pain management in Germany (Bonn University Clinic; Marienkrankenhaus, Hamburg; Unfallkrankenhaus, Berlin) in 1999, and participated in the American-Austrian Foundation Internship in Anaesthesiology and Pain Management at Landeskrankenhaus St. Johann Spital, Salzburg, Austria in 2000. Prof. Kobelyatskyy was awarded his PhD in 1996 and Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in 2004. His doctoral dissertation was titled: "Differential Management of Postoperative Pain Syndrome Depending on the Type of Surgery and Neuroplasticity Dynamics (A Clinical and Experimental Study)." He is the founder of the first Acute Pain Service in Ukraine, a significant milestone in improving postoperative care.
