IONESCU Daniela
Professor in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, since 2014, Daniela Ionescu received her medical degree in 1989 at the same university. As a young anesthesiologist, she spent time abroad as visiting fellow in Leeds (1 year), Plymouth and Cambridge-UK, Rouen-France, and Tel Aviv-Israel. Currently, Head of Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and of Clinical Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Institute for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Cluj-Napoca where she currently works as anesthesiologist and intensivist.
She is Past Chair of Forum 1 – General Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine of European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (Chair until 2023). Member of the Board of Romanian Society of Anesthesia and Intensive Care (since 2002) and of Board of Directors of World SIVA (Society of Intravenous Anesthesia). Member of Outcome Research Consortium, Cleveland, USA. Chair of Onco-Anaesthesia Group – ESAIC since 2023. Chair of Association for Research in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care - Cluj-Napoca.
Daniela Ionescu authored and co-authored over 130 publications, 59 in ISI indexed journals. Hirsh index (ISI Web of Science) 17.
Total funding from grant 1,2 mil Euro. Member Steering Committee of 2 international grants.
Her main research interests include the influence of anesthetic interventions on perioperative outcome in surgical cancer patients, hemodynamic monitoring in cirrhotic patients, bacterial resistance in ICU, and postoperative delirium.
Prof. Ionescu was invited speaker to numerous prestigious international anesthesia meetings.
