Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in Fakultní Nemocnice Královské Vinohrady University Hospital and 3rd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Apart from research interests in muscle metabolism and bioenergetic failure in the critically ill, Franki is a practicing intensivists with interest in medical education. He is a Chair of the Division of Professional Development and Executive Committee Member of European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and has been a Director of European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) Exam Centre in Prague. Franki loves teaching acid base, t Sharon Einav is an Associate Professor in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She studied Medicine at the Hebrew University and underwent training in Anaesthesia and then also in Intensive Care at the Hadassah Medical Centre. During this time she also worked in the Israeli National Ambulance Service (MDA). During her work as a senior faculty member at Hadassa, Prof. Einav was responsible for ENT, maxillo-facial and vascular surgery operating rooms, she served as Medical Director of the School of Resuscitation and Medical Director the airborne critical care transport services, was the physician on the personal entourages of Pope John Paul II and President Bill Clinton in Israel, and won a competitive research fellowship on Epidemiology of cardiac arrest and resuscitation. Shortly after finishing her fellowship in intensive care in 2002, she joined the faculty of the Shaare Zedek Medical Center where she was appointed Director of Surgical Critical Care and Director of both the Blood Banking and Resuscitation Committees and finished her Master Degree in Clinical Epidemiology (Cum Laudae). After 18 years in the Shaare Zedek Medical Center where Prof. Einav worked full time in the ICU, she has recently been nominiated as regional medical director at Maccabi Healthcare which serves a population of 2 million. She also serves as the chief medical officer for Medint - Medical Intelligence, a company that specializes in delivery of medical research and development of a reseach AI. Prof. Einav consulted on device development for Medtronic and Zoll and for the Department of Implemented Physics of the Hebrew University. Her fields of research include epidemiology, research methods, shock, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma – particularly (but not only) in the context of maternity and multiple casualty events. She has received the American College of Surgeons award for Best Scientific Exhibit for some of her research on treatment of victims of multiple casualty events.
