GARINI Eleana
MD, MSc, EDAIC, EDRA Education Dr. Eleana Garini was born in Athens, Greece in 1974. She was awarded the degree in Medicine in 2000 by the Medical School of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She completed her residency in Anaesthesia at Evaggelismos Hospital, Athens Greece having also been accepted as international trainee for three months in Charite-âUniversitatsmedizin Berlin, Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Germany. She has been awarded the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care by the European Society of Anaesthesiology (EDAIC) in 2009. She has been awarded the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA) in 2014. She has been conferred the award of Master of Science in Pain Management by the Medical School of Cardiff University (distant learning) in 2019. Dr Eleana Garini has also received Post Specialty Clinical Training in Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London U.K in the fields of Paediatric Anaesthesia (2013) and in Pain management in Children (2014), in Sick Children of Toronto Hospital (2017) in the fields of Acute and Chronic Pain Management in Children and in Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center Athens Greece (2014) in the fields of Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia. Profile of the hospital /department She has been practicing pediatric anesthesiology exclusively since 2009 (Pendelis Children’s Hospital). Since 2013 she is a Consultant Anaesthetist in “Agia Sofia”, the largest Children’s Hospital in Greece Athens Greece (750 beds) (www.paidon-agiasofia.gr) providing anaesthesia, preoperative evaluation and postoperative management of infants, children and adolescent cases presenting for general, neuro, eye, ENT, thoracic and congenital heart disease, orthopedic, plastic and urologic surgery, dental procedures as well as sedation for endoscopic, imaging and minor painful procedures. She is one of the 3 anaesthetists that are responsible for the paediatric cardiac cases. Education Activities She serves as examiner in EDRA diploma since 2021. She is actively involved in training registrars at her hospital. Frequently organizes and participates in educational activities within the Hellenic Society of Anaesthesiology.
