Dr. Krisztina Madách, an Associate Professor at Semmelweis University’s Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, is a specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Therapy, as well as Emergency Medicine and Oxyology, with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and research. She is involved in several international medical societies, serving as a Council Member representing Hungary for the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and as a Subforum Lead for the ESAIC Scientific Forum on "Infection, Sepsis, and Immunology." Her professional contributions include membership in the UEMS Anaesthesiology Section’s Education and Professional Development Committee. She played a key role in integrating the written European board examination into the Hungarian national specialist examination system during her tenure as Deputy Chair of the ESAIC Examinations Subcommittee Part I. On a national level, Dr. Madách is a Board Member of the Hungarian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy (MAITT) and chairs its Education Committee. She has also contributed her expertise to the Hungarian Society of Clinical Nutrition and various regional medical boards. Furthermore, she is an active organizer and committee member for numerous international and national conferences and courses. Her research interests focus on the human microbiome in critical illness, infectology and sepsis, the genetic factors influencing outcomes in pneumonia-induced sepsis, thrombotic microangiopathies, and clinical nutrition. She has authored 65 publications, including 25 journal articles and 29 book chapters. Dr. Madách is a regular lecturer and examiner in graduate and postgraduate programs for students, nurses, trainees, and specialists in both Hungarian and English. She also serves as a tutor for the Union of Research of Semmelweis University and the Talent Support Program, continuing to balance her clinical duties with a passion for mentoring the next generation of specialists.
