BURLACU Crina L.
Associate Clinical Professor Crina L. Burlacu, MD (ROU), MD (IE), MSc (IE), FCARCSI, EDAIC, FESAIC, is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist with the National Cancer Screening Service, St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group, and St. Columcille’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. She also serves as Associate Clinical Professor with the Division of Surgery and Surgical Specialties, School of Medicine, University College Dublin, Ireland. She is an Elected Member of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland Council and serves as the Chair of its Training Committee. A recognised leader in simulation-based medical education, Prof. Burlacu previously served as Foundation Director of Simulation Training at the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland, where she established and advanced Ireland’s first comprehensive, mandatory simulation programme for specialist anaesthesiology trainees. Prof. Burlacu is also the co-founder and first Chairperson of the Irish Association for Simulation (IAS) and an Associate Member of the Scientific Committee of the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM). She is Dublin Host for EDAIC Part I and EDAIC Part II Examiner, as well as an Examiner for the Membership and Fellowship examinations of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland. Prof. Burlacu is Chairperson of the Simulation Subcommittee of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, where she actively advocates for the implementation of a standardised simulation curricula in anaesthesiology training. In this capacity, she closely collaborated with SRATI and received the Vitae Custodes Medal in recognition of her contribution to the development of the Romanian National Simulation Training programme.
