
COHEN Barak
Dr. Barak Cohen graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Medical School in 2003 and served as a Medical Officer in the IDF until 2015. He concomitantly completed his residency in the division of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center. During his service and residency, Dr. Cohen was involved in many academic and scientific activities. He completed a 3-year clinical research fellowship in Cleveland Clinic's Outcome Research Department, serving as the department’s chief research fellow. He currently serves as the Head of the Research Section and the Vice-Chair of the Division of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Medicine in the Tel-Aviv Medical Center, combining clinical work, leadership roles, and responsibility over clinical research in the largest anaesthesia department in Israel. He is also a member of the Research Committee of the Israeli Society of Anaesthesiologists, dedicated to promoting collaborative research in Israel. Dr. Cohen was recently nominated as the head of Forum 5 (devices and technology) Scientific Committee of the European Society of Anaesthesiologists. His main areas of interest include perioperative outcomes of geriatric patients, the effects of intraoperative hyperoxia, and continuous postoperative monitoring.
