SHORE-LESSERSON Linda
Dr. Linda Shore-Lesserson is Professor of Anaesthesiology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, Vice-Chair for Academic Affairs and practices Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Shore-Lesserson is a clinical and an academic cardiac anaesthesiologist who is a Past President of the Society of Cardiovascular Anaesthesiologists (SCA) and currently serving on the SCA Board as a Founding Officer Successor. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Board of Echocardiography. As an educator she has been Program Chair for numerous national meetings and was most recently the general chair of the New York Society of Anaesthesiologists’ - PGA Annual Meeting. She is also the second Vice Chair for the ASA Annual Meeting. In the cardiac community, Dr. Shore-Lesserson is a fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA) and is currently the Chair of the Surgery and Anaesthesia Council (CVSA) of the AHA. Other multidisciplinary positions include being the anaesthesiology lead working with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Society of Extracorporeal Technology on an interdisciplinary project “Best Practices in Perfusion Management”. As past-chair of the Committee on Patient Blood Management for the American Society of Anaesthesiologists, she stays active in that medical specialty and now serves as President Elect for the Society for the Advancement of Patient Blood Management (SABM). Research interests lie in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis as it relates to cardiovascular disease. The results of her research have been published in high impact peer reviewed journals.
