SARAÇOĞLU Kemal Tolga
Following his study in medicine at the University of Istanbul, Turkey, he specialized in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Istanbul Marmara University of Medicine Turkey. After an observer fellowship at Jena University, Germany, he became Assistant Professor at the Medical School of Marmara University in 2012. In 2015 he was promoted to Associate Professor and he was promoted as full clinical professor in 2020 in the Health Sciences University Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. He is currently working as a Senior Consultant in Hamad Medical Corporation Doha Qatar. He is lead for Difficult Airway Response Team, Research and Continuos Professional Development Education in Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital. He is an academic faculty member of Qatar University Medicine. He is specialized in Cardio-thoracic anaesthesia and has huge experience in regional anaesthesia. His main interest is airway management. He is the president of European Airway Management Society. He is the immediate past Subforum Lead of Airway Management in European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. He has Airway Teacher Diploma approved by European Airway Management Society and he is difficult an airway expert. He has publications regarding rescue techniques following failed laryngoscopy, airway management in penetrating thoracic trauma, supraglottic airway device comparisons, pediatric airway management, video-laryngoscope-guided laryngeal mask insertion, tracheal tube cuff pressure changes in neonates, education in airway management, one lung ventilation, advanced airway management in and out of hospital cardiac arrest and airway management strategies for the Covid 19 patients. He is an Associate Editor of the Trends in Anaesthesia and Critical Care for airway management. He is Board Certified by European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC). Besides, he is a senior examiner for part II EDAIC exams. He has a PhD degree in Physiology with thesis: Saracoglu KT, et al. " Effects of different crystalloid fluids on renal tissue in an experimental model of haemorrhagic shock " published in the Turkish Journal of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation. He has ongoing research in vitro experimental studies on sitotxicity, DNA damage, apoptosis, oxidative stress and inflammation during systemic toxisity of local anesthetics, traumatic hemorrhagic shock or anaphlaxis. He is an active ATLS instructor of American College of Surgeons and active ALS instructor of European Resuscitation Council. He has 3 years experience being a team member of heart transplant and ECMO in Istanbul Bilim University Medical School. He has participated several international research studies including Blueberry, Squeeze, GNOS:Spine, Encore, COVIDSurg. He is involved in education since he became Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology. He is an educator in Asian Society Pediatric Anesthesiologists (ASPA). He has medical simulation educator certificates from Bristol University UK and The College of Anesthesiologists of Ireland. He teaches courses about airway management, trauma and resuscitation at, international conferences and several centers both in Europe and Asia.
